"Trouble In My Soul" - Mexican Dubwiser

I don't know how I stumbled upon this, or how to describe.  Maybe my ear just isn't used to this style of music, but the instrumentals remind me of Manu Chao.  That being said, the song as a whole does not in the slightest.  It just makes me happy knowing that there's more out there.  Even if "Trouble in My Soul" seems less than happy, I can't help but feel optimistic when I listen to this tune, in a weird, albeit detached sort of way.  Lend your ear, you won't regret it.

"Book Club" - Arkells ft. Lights (Acoustic)

Check out this acoustic rendition of the first track off the Arkells 2011 album, Michigan Left, featuring Lights.  Its really beautiful.  Enjoy.

"Night Is On My Mind" - Oliver

Check this track from electronic artist Oliver.  This guy is definitely keeping up with trends in music all the while staying true to his roots.  Give it a listen.

Time For A Boogie Album Preview - Boogie Belgique

Everyone has that band or artist that is under the radar, and you spread em around like you can because they are great and they should be famous.  This is one of mine.  I've already shared this artist with you guys, but his second album, Time for a Boogie just came out.  So here's his preview of the album, with a link to buy it too I believe.  If you like it support the artist, he really deserves it.

"Hello Alone" and "Speak To Me" - Charlie Winston

I know this is old stuff, but I'm a big fan of Charlie Winston, and his album Running Still has just been released in the US and the UK this week.  Give him a listen, he sounds great.

"Magic Table" - Spike (Poolside Cover)

Poolside have done well for themselves of late, and deservedly so.  Check this sweet cover.

"Look At Where We Are" - Hot Chip (Major Lazer vs. Junior Blender)

I'm not always the biggest Diplo fan or Major Lazer fan, but I'm a huge Hot Chip fan.  As fate would have it, I find myself procrastinating and stumbling upon this really sweet remix.  In fact, Major Lazer has their own remix of this tune, which is a lot more intense, and a lot more, ummmm, MajorLazer-y.  This one, Major Lazer vs. Junior Blender, is really laid-back.

"Summer's Tide" - Fuzzy Lights

Fuzzy Lights.  Another British outfit.  Another that's definitely worth a listen.  Cheers.

"ProtoVision" - Kavinsky (Boys Noize and Blood Orange Remixes)

Kavinsky's new album Protovision got this sick Blood Orange and Boys Noize remixes.  Check em out!

"Mauvaise Mine" - Lafayette (Jupiter Remix)

Some music just makes you want to dance.  That's what this is.  Almost has an 80's feel to it.

"Fantasy" - MSMR

I know I've posted a remix of MSMR before, but here's an unaltered track: Fantasy.  Instrumentals build so well, and the voice is just great.  Enjoy.

"Give Me The Night" - George Benson (The Tailors Remix)

You know that moment when you listen to a song for the first time, and its so damn nasty you stop everything your doing and revel in the sweet sound? Well here it is, sound shocker! The Tailors bring you George Benson Remix, heavy crisp bass, doesnt get much better than this.

"We No Who U R" - Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds

A beautifully calm song by the long-time Aussie band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.  Wonderfully orchestral, as well as with a beautiful video.
New album "Push The Sky Away" will be released in February.

"It Was U" - How To Dress Well (Blackbird Blackbird Remix)

so. damn. chill.

"Please and Thank You" - Wildcat! Wildcat!

Wildcat! Wildcat! is just one of the small bands I wish were bigger.   The little amount of material they've released is great, but that's not why.  I'm convinced they'd put on a great show, but being an East Coast-er with a limited budget, I can't afford to go see them, even though they are continuously tourring on the west coast.  No matter.  Enjoy!

"Imprint of Pleasure" - Tube & Berger

Shut up and listen...

"Catch Me If You Can" - Dead Battery (Dabin Remix)

So this guy is on an Electro/dub label up in Montreal.  Dabin has produced so pretty danceable tracks, and this remix is one of them.  If you're looking for something to get you stoked for a night out, this track isn't a bad choice.

"Skyfall" - Adele (Wize Remix)

So at this point I can only assume just about everyone has seen the most recent Bond film, Skyfall.  If not, you must have heard Adele's theme to the opening credits.  Personally, it wasn't my favorite (that would be Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill").  That said, it was a pretty glorious Bond song:  I couldn't imagine it anywhere else than the opening credits to a James Bond film.  However, this remix turns a certified Bond song into something much more relaxed, simultaneously relieving tension and building it up.  Sadly, there is no widget  of it on Soundcloud, so the link will have to do.  Enjoy!

"November Skies" - Tomas Barfod ft. Nina Kinert

So yea, today I'm playing catch up for the past week.  This is another awesome track.  Tomas Barfod's November Skies, off his Salton Seas EP(available as of May 22nd of last year), is definitely worth a listen.

"Everything Is Embarrassing" - Sky Ferreira (Unknown Mortal Orchestra Remix)

This is an awesome remix.  Make sure to check out the original too!

"Bright Whites" - Kishi Bashi

It's always nice when masterful music is accompanied by a masterful video, and Kishi Bashi's Bright Whites falls in both categories.  When you listen to this, you can't help but feel great, and even optimistic, making it a perfect song to help kick-off the new year.  It was definitely one of the best songs of 2012.  A veteran in his field, K. Ishibashi helped found Jupiter One, and tours alongside Regina Spektor and Of Montreal.  Enjoy the sounds and support the artist.  His album 151a is truly amazing to listen through.

Just the kind of chill track one needs to reminisce about years past and ponder those to come: a sweet remix by Le Crayon.  Enjoy!
